The Subaru Houghton International Horse Trials is the largest of its kind in Europe. Year after year world class riders make the long journey to Norfolk and this year we want you to be part of the action!!
Fancy a bit of show jumping, well there's plenty of unaffiliated classes, including a two phase jumping and a horse and hound class.
Or perhapes you want to mix it up a bit with the Eventer's Grand Prix. We run both Novice and Open classes, which jump over a combination of SJ fences and portable XC fences.
Why not make a weekend of it? And be part of the Subaru Houghton atmosphere, by stabling on-site in the International Event Stables and come along to the evening entertainment in the main marquee. The event also has an official caravan and campsite, so tell your friends to book a space.
Eventers Grand Prix
Mix it up with the Eventer's Grand Prix, kindly sponsored by Sema Lease UK Ltd. We run both Novice and Open classes, which consist of a short course of show jumps followed immediately by 6 - 10 efforts over portable cross country fences, followed immediately by a further section of 5 - 7 show jumps. Competitors are penalised with 5 seconds added on for a knock down of a show jump. The winner is the competitor with the fastest time.
Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse Series
Is a series of qualifiers that run all over the country from May until Auguest with the final being held at Burghley. The objective of this class is to identify the future star event horses. These classes are split into 2 sections, the 4 year old horses and the 5 year old horses. There are 4 judges, who judge Dressage, Confirmation, Jumping and a Final Phase. The winner is the horse most likely to make a top class event horse.
Unaffiliated Show Jumping Classes - Friday 25th & Saturday 26th May
On Friday 25th May, we are running an evening of entertainment, with some fun and exciting show jumping classes, followed by a hog roast supper and live music. On Saturday 26th, classes include two phase jumping and a new Horse and Hound class, were both horses and dogs are put through their paces.
